Question: What type of law does Kenner Jones Law, LLC practice?

Answer: Our Attorneys practice Family Law (including divorce - contested, uncontested & collaborative -, prenuptial agreements, separation agreements, etc.) Wills, Trust, & Estates and Contracts. We also provide assistance with Criminal Defense Matters, Juvenile Defense, Social Security Appeals representation, & Civil Lawsuits. We additionally work as contractors for Colleges and Universities, businesses, and organizations to provide neutral fact finding and investigation services to assist in Prohibited Harassment & Discrimination cases. We focus on Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, professional standards of conduct, consensual relationship violations, and bullying. We also assist these organizations in policy creation and revision. 


Question: What do I do when I have a question?


Answer: It is important to remember that we are here to serve you, and a part of serving you is answering any and all of your questions. There are several ways in which you can contact us with any of your questions. You can either email us at info@kennerjoneslaw.com or by phone. We promise to provide answers to your questions within 48 business hours - if not sooner. Please remember that we are working with numerous clients, and although some questions can be answered immediately, other questions may require additional research and time to respond. Nonetheless, we encourage you to ask questions and we look forward to building your understanding of relevant legal matters and issues.

Question: What is the initial consultation?


Answer: The initial consultation is approximately 30 minutes to an hour long depending on the complexity of your legal matter. It is a tool to assess whether the attorneys can assist you in reconciling your legal issues. It is also a useful tool for you to determine whether Kenner Jones Law is a good fit for your needs.


Question: Is my consultation confidential?


Answer: Yes, anything you choose to share during your initial consultation is taken in the anticipation of litigation, and regardless if you choose to hire Kenner Jones Law as your firm or not any information you provide will remain confidential and cannot be disclosed to third parties without your permission.


Question: Are all of the Attorneys that work with Kenner Jones Law licensed?


Answer: Yes, all the Attorneys that work with our firm are licensed and remain in compliance with all relevant state requirements. They attend necessary Continuing Legal Education (CLE) training to stay in compliance with the governing laws of their respective states and to maintain current and up to date knowledge pertaining to their legal practice areas.


Question: In what Jurisdictions does Kenner Jones Law practice?


Answer: In Atlanta, GA Kenner Jones Law practices in the counties of Fulton, Cobb, Douglas, Fayette, Dekalb, and Gwinnett. In Portland, OR we practice in the counties of Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington.


Question: Will my case go to court?


Answer: Statistics show that more than 90% of cases settle outside of court and never going to trial. However, each case is unique, and it is impossible to definitively answer if a case will go to trial.  Nevertheless, we pride ourselves on handling matters expeditiously. We understand that many clients do not wish to go to trial, and we work hard to reach a settlement that our clients are satisfied with.


Question: If it is determined that your firm cannot assist me with my legal matter, do you have resources or provide assistance to point me in the direction of someone who can help me?


Answer: Yes, we work very closely with other Attorneys in the local community and will try our best to provide you with recommendations and referrals to someone who can assist you in the event our firm is not the best fit.


Question: How will I be kept informed of my case?


Answer: Our attorneys understand the importance of communication and transparency between attorney and client. We would like to speak to all of our clients weekly by telephone to give them updates, however this would be neither practical nor productive.  Often, legal matters tend to stretch over a long period of time. During this time - behind the scenes -our attorneys are investigating the facts of the case, gathering evidence, deposing all relevant parties and persons, researching pertinent legal issues, negotiating settlements with opposing counsel, and much more. In a nutshell we are covering all of the bases and making sure nothing is overlooked. In order to keep legal cost down while maximizing communications, we will strive to keep you informed via telephone, U.S. mail, or in person meeting when anything important happens. Additionally, we will inform you when your presence is either needed in our office or in court.


Question: What does the Attorney's fee include? 


Answer: Simply stated, you will receive superior service that includes; careful consideration, compassionate counsel, and comprehensive knowledge by our legal team that is both efficient and effective.


Question: What is the fee for your legal services?


Answer: A part of our mission is to ensure that all of our clients are properly informed of all related service cost and legal fees. We firmly believe that our clients are entitled to know the cost of our services prior to being serviced. Upon your initial interview/consultation, we will reasonably inform you of all associated fees. Because ever case is different and a variety of factors will effect the cost of legal representation, a pricing break down will be provided to you after your initial consultation and intake. We encourage an open dialogue regarding all matters related to fee arrangements, payment schedules, and payment methods.
